Мета. Порівняти ефективність застосування молекулярно-генетичних методів та РІД за діагностики лейкозу великої рогатої худоби (ВРХ) і дослідити філогенетичні зв’язки між ізолятами вірусу лейкозу (ВЛ) ВРХ. Методи. Детекцію провірусної ДНК ВЛ ВРХ здійснювали за допомогою вітчизняної ПЛР тест-системи «BLV-provirus DNA-тест», розробленої в ННЦ «ІЕКВМ». Результати. Досліджено молекулярно-генетичні особливості та філогенетичні зв’язки у популяції ВЛ, що циркулює у різних регіонах України. Підтверджено вищу специфічність ПЛР-аналізу порівняно з РІД щодо детекції ВЛ ВРХ. Висновки. Установлено, що результати філогенетичних досліджень можуть бути використані для виявлення та вивчення можливих субгруп (або генотипів), створення базису для пошуку генів, що визначають високу біологічну активність вірусів.
