Abstract
Goal. To study the economic effectiveness of using the modern insecticide drug «Butox 7.5 Pur On» on milk cows and heifers in rearing to prevent the attack of blood-sucking dipterous insects. Methods. Field, laboratory, quantitative, comparative calculation, mathematical and statistical. Results. In the experimental group of cows during the period of protection against biting insects with «Butox 7.5 Pur On», a higher average daily milk yield was observed compared to the control group. Milk yield increased by an average of 108.6 liters per animal. As a result, for 60 days, for each animal subjected to treatment, they received additional milk in the amount of UAH 1,086 (based on its purchase price of UAH 10 per 1 liter). The cost of «Butox 7.5 Pur On» in the amount of 0.03 l (at the price of UAH 1940 for 1 l) for the treatment of 1 cow during the period of the experiment was UAH 58.2 per 1 animal. So, the economic effect of «Butox 7.5 Pur On» on dairy cattle was 135.1 UAH per 1 UAH of costs. The economic efficiency of «Butox 7.5 Pur On» was also studied on young cattle during rearing. A group of heifers in the amount of 10 heads was protected against blood-sucking dipterous insects also by the method of one-time treatment with the drug. The weight gain of heifers when used in the experimental group was 19.52 kg (1561.6 hryvnias) per 1 animal. The cost of the spent drug for the treatment of 1 heifer during rearing was UAH 38.8. Conclusions. «Butox 7.5 Pure On» is a promising insecticide for individual treatment of cattle during the grazing period. The economic effect of the use of the drug on dairy cattle was 135.1 UAH, and on young animals for growing — 78.6 UAH per 1 UAH of costs (without taking into account the payment of the specialist and the delivery of the drug).
