Abstract

Goal. To study the effect of the nitrification inhibitor DMPP on the processes of nitrogen distribution in typical chornozem. Methods. Field, laboratory-analytical, system analysis, comparison; experimental data processing using the Microsoft Office Excel computer program. Results. It was established that the use of the nitrification inhibitor DMPP had a positive effect on the distribution of nitrogen in typical chornozem. Thus, depending on agro-climatic conditions and soil type, the content of ammonium nitrogen at the application of DMPP exceeded that indicator in the control version by 38–85%; in the plots where DMPP was used in the amount of 35 g/ha, nitrate forms of nitrogen were 7.2–12.2 mg/kg of soil more in the root zone compared to the control. The use of DMPP increased the effectiveness of nitrogen fertilizers. Thanks to the slowing down of the processes of transition from the immobile ammonium form of nitrogen to the mobile nitrate one, plants received gradual and stable nitrogen nutrition, even at the late stages of organogenesis. The use of DMPP postponed the release of nitrogen to the later critical phases of the culture. So there is an opportunity to reduce the number of passes of equipment on the field and the time of work. Conclusions. It was established that the introduction of the nitrification inhibitor DMPP had a positive effect on the processes of nitrogen distribution in typical chornozem, and reduced its unproductive losses from the soil.
