Abstract

Goal. To justify the priority of measures to protect the environment as an important factor in the qualitative development of the food system of Ukraine in the context of European integration. Methods. Dialectical and logical methods of scientific knowledge, a systematic approach to the study of processes and phenomena, comparative assessments of the EU and Ukraine’s measures to preserve the environment, generalization of scientific research, statistical data, and interaction of elements of European integration are applied. Results. The main national features and ways of improving the protection of the natural environment of Ukraine in the current conditions of functioning of the agrarian sector of the economy are outlined, and the necessity of the maximum approximation of the state policy to the European agrarian policy is proved. Conclusions. It is necessary to intensify Ukraine’s accession to the implementation of the European Green Deal, biodiversity conservation, and other global initiatives to protect the environment, which are important factors in the formation of a sustainable food system of the state.
